Texas Holdem

Well...I played in a qualifying round of a Texas Holdem Tournament at Old Chicago. Guess what...I didn't make the top 4. :(

But it was still fun. Was all in 4 times. The 4th one got me. But there were 4 guys all in and 5 guys in total. One of the all in guys won the hand so 3 of us left. He took it with 4 3's. Shiesh...At least I got hammered out.

When I walked out of that monkey cage (felt like I wanted to throw poo at all the people watching us through the window. We were the closest table to the windows) there were 15 players still in out of the 40 who started. I am pleased.

Hopefully I will be picked again next week.

The only problem is, I missed 24. :( I forgot to start the VCR before I left. I don't think FOX shows it again. But I wish they would start showing a replay on FX like they did the first year. (maybe they do and I just don't know)

Ok...I have got off my ass...

Here we go. A few pics of the Vegas trip.

Here Lance thought that this was a good start to the trip.

This was the first thing we saw when we got to the Consumer Electronics Show. Boy we didn't know what we were in for.

Here on the first day of the con, I thought my weekend was made when I got my pic taken with Cat Schwartz.

I cant believe I missed Junior Seau at the ESPN booth. :(

Little did I know that things would get real good when I won an IPOD Mini from G4TechTV. Ahhh...the life of a geek! :)

Here Lance and myself enjoy a fine crafted brew from Gordon Biersch. Wanted to hit that place in San Jose a few years back. But could only get their beers in other bars. Just never enough time.

Here we were at the Sirius Radio booth (one of the 2) where they were broadcasting live. So I got to see Cris Carter and Tony Gonzalez (plus get their autographs) and also Tim Brown. (would have got Tims autograph but we were at the Star Trek Experience (must see if you goto Vegas).

But, I was able to run into Greg Maddox and get his autograph tho. :)

They were doing a live broadcast of The Screen Savers for G4TechTV. We were lucky enough to get on TV and I was lucky enough to get a pic with Kevin Rose. Actually we ran into Kevin the night before walking back to the hotel. Followed him for a couple blocks and he looked behind him and I realized who he was. Was kinda cool, but he most likely thought we were stalkers or something. (No Kevin, we wouldn't hurt you...Only Kevin Pereira)

On Saturday I got to play Painkiller with the #1 gamer in the world. His name is Fatal1ty. He is the biggest spawn killer I have ever met! (I just had to say it) But I got my ass handed to me 18-0. When I left him he had beaten everyone by like 600-0. Nobody killed him once. But he did have a total advantage. I would like to play him on a mutually played game with my own PC sometime. See what I really could do.

Here is me with my new friend, the 83oz pitcher from the Harley Davidson Cafe. But as you can see...Lance needed some help with his.

Made it down to ESPN Zone to watch the Charger game. Too bad we lost, but there were a lot of Charger fans there. So I was with family. But this is the only way to watch football.

It was a blast. Can't wait till next year. But there is only one way to sum up this trip.

Whew.

Yeah, I know

I have not posted a darn thing lately. Been a busy boy.

Really wanted to post a few pics from Vegas and such but I have been having trouble with my CD burner. Thinking its my power supply, but we shall see.

Hopefully I will be able to get things sorted out tonight and get a real post up.

Oh, and Mr. President...Lets get some tax reform done this term. HR25 would be great. To me...the Fair Tax plan is the way to go. http://www.fairtax.org

Problem is...stupid congress won't get off their duffs and pass something like this. They would lose most of their power over America.

Ok...stupid blog...

I send a post in an email yesterday but it never showed.

I guess I will never use that way of posting again.

Anyway, have all the pictures from the trip downloaded and just have to go through them and pick which ones I want to post about.

Overall a good trip and I would love to go back to the CES next year. I need to find a way.

I am still a little sore tho. 16 hours a day on your feet and I swear we walked 50 miles in 3 days. But its gogogo there. So much to see and not even close to enough time to see it all in.

But I will say...the stupidest thing I saw. The Las Vegas PD. They had 3 cops on the sides of the street preventing people from jaywalking to the shuttle stop across the street. So we had to stand there for like 30 min waiting for a smaller shuttle to shuttle us across the street to the big shuttle. WTF! Why couldn't these stupid cops get off their doughnut boxes and step out in the stree and stop traffic for 2 minutes and let us get to the other side of the street? All I can say is...Must be a Union involved. Idiots...

All packed

Plane leaves in less than 2 hours.

Already looking at some pix of the convention on Kevin Rose's website. Can't wait to get there!

I will be taking pix of my own. Think I have enough room on my CF cards to put 150 photos on them. We shall see.

Can't wait for the weather either. It is to be in the low 50's there with a little rain. Lot better than the 9 degrees here and snow everywhere. :)

Should be leaving for the airport in about 20 min. So I don't think I will have any way of posting while I am there. But if I can I will.

Look for me on G4TechTV at 6pm central time. They will be doing the show there live and I will be trying to watch it. :)

Let's roll!!!

Oh, P.S. Go Chargers! :) Will be trying to watch from the ESPNzone. Can't wait! :)

My hopes are up...

Not even the threat of a foot of snow can bring me down!

Tonight USC goes for the NCAA Football Championship. I will be down at Buffalo Wild Wings tonight in my USC gear to root them on to victory. Go Troy!

Vegas in 2 days. The snow has me a little worried. Just need to get out of town.

Looks like it will be in the 50's down there so I don't plan on wearing a jacket. :)

Anyone who has been to The Strip reads this, post some places you would not miss going to. Willing to take suggestions! (Please sign your post...I like to know who is talking to me)

Someone want to go clean off my car for me?
